Penn National Golf Club & Inn Semi-Private, 36 hole golf facility located in Fayetteville, Pennsylvania. The Penn National golf Club has two regulation eighteen hole golf courses - The Founders Course and the Iron Forge Course.

____________________Founders Course

In 1966, Edmund Ault came to Penn National from Washington, DC, and laid out the original course, a classic, Northeastern-style masterpiece with large contoured greens, sculpted bunkers and tree-lined fairways. Construction of the Founders Course was completed & opening day was celebrated on June 1, 1968.

The Founders Course includes large greens and water hazards that come into play on five holes. The course is located at the foot of the mountains, so expect some uneven lies on the fairways, as well as spectacular views.

_____________________Iron Forge Course

Iron Forge first opened for play in 1997. The course was designed by Bill Love.

Iron Forge opened for play almost 30 years after its sister course, The Founders Course. Love set out to fit the golf course to the land. The Iron Forge starts near the Michaux State Forest, in the foothills of South Mountain, and makes a single loop home, passing through a variety of terrain that offers exciting golf and views of the surrounding mountains and the rich, open farmland.

The Iron Forge Course provides a modern link-style course with sculpted bent-grass fairways, more open to the forces of nature. In contrast to the Founders Course, Iron Forge is nearly treeless - a tribute to the Scottish links land courses, where the challenges of the natural environment can be havoc enough for the wayward stroke. The course is a blend of modern golf, with beautifully sculpted fairways and bentgrass greens, and the tradition of golf with its soul laid bare to the forces of nature.

The newer Iron Forge Course is located on rolling terrain where old apple orchards and pear trees once grew. Although this course has few trees, the fairways are tight and some are dogleg configurations. All of the greens are two-tiered, and sand bunkers and water hazards come into play on nearly every hole.

Penn National Golf Club, The Iron Course, plays to 7,009 yards from the back tees. The course rating is 72.9 and the slope rating is 123. Par for the course is 72.

During the construction of the Iron Forge course, a small lime kiln was uncovered. Dating back to the early 1800s, this kiln is located behind the 9th green. It has been preserved, and guests are welcome to visit
